* To qualify for enhanced interest savings through an Ohio Homebuyer Plus Program (“OHP”) account with Liberty Savings Bank, F.S.B. (“Liberty”), an eligible account holder must: 1) be a resident of the State of Ohio; 2) be at least 18 years of age; 3) have a primary residence in the State of Ohio; and 4) attest that the intent at the time of account opening is to use the account proceeds toward the down payment or closing costs of a home purchase in Ohio. OHP accounts are limited to one account per qualifying individual. In addition, accounts connected with OHP must be used within five (5) years and maintain a minimum balance of at least $100. Any applicant seeking to open an enhanced interest savings account through the OHP must review, understand, agree, and adhere to the terms and conditions outlined in the OHP’s Participation Statement
Upon first withdrawal, all funds must be taken from the OHP account within 90 days of that initial withdrawal. Please refer to the OHP’s Participation Statement for further details about withdrawals. If there are remaining funds in the account 1) at the end of this 90 day period; 2) if/when the account reaches the OHP prescribed expiration date; or 3) the State of Ohio should deem the account to be ineligible, the account will be converted to a non-OHP savings account at Liberty bearing a then current interest rate/annual percentage yield. To obtain current rate and/or annual percentage yield information, please call (800) 436-6300. We will notify you should the account convert. In such event, you will not lose any bonuses or interest earned up to the time of conversion. The OHP account may offer tax benefits but you are to refer any such questions to your tax advisor.
You may find more information at OHP’s Participation Statement or Ohio Revised Code.
